Every January is the time to download the year’s waterfront sales results from the MLS. From Olympia to Port Ludlow, 2019 was a busy year for the Olympic Peninsula. The download took some time. As is my practice, I divide the coast up into 16 distinct waterfront markets and paste the data from each beach into a spreadsheet where I graph the results.
This year, the average sales price of Gig Harbor was within 10% of the historically highest priced waterfront real estate on the Peninsula – Bainbridge Island. Harstine Island remained the best value while Olympia creeps towards seven figures. It’s getting expensive out there but you can still find bargains.
