My name is Mike Mostyn and thank you for coming to my blogsite. I am a veteran of the Mason County real estate community. I list waterfront homes full-time from the Belfair Windermere office, the hub of South Sound waterfront. With Hood Canal on one side, Case Inlet, the islands and Pickering Passage on the other, there is a wealth of waterfront and each has its own character.
My wife and I moved here 20 years ago from the Seattle/Bellevue suburbs. We looked at 54 houses before finding our idyllic spot on Pickering Passage – the process proved to be more difficult than it had to be.
The fact is, each waterfront community has features that few understand if they haven’t lived here on the water. Our Realtor was a good example; we had an idea of what we wanted, but he knew very little about Mason County waterfront… areas best for kayaking, boating, and beach walking. Consequently, a lot of time was wasted looking at houses that we weren’t interested in.
My advantage as a real estate broker is knowing both sides – as a buyer and as a South Sound waterfront homeowner. This knowledge helps me market Mason County waterfront home’s uniqueness to discerning waterfront buyers from out of the area.
